Given equations

#7x+1=-3y#

#7x+3y=-1\ ........(1)# &

#3x+2y-3=0#

#3x+2y=3\ ........(2)#

Multiplying (2) by #3/2# & subtracting from (1) as follows

#7x+3y-3/2(3x+2y)=-1-3/2(3)#

#5/2x=-11/2#

#x=-11/5#

setting value of #x# in (1), we get

#7(-11/5)+3y=-1#

#3y=72/5#

#y=24/5#
