Putting #y=0# in the given equation we get

#x/a-y/b=1#

#=>x/a-0/b=1#

#=>x=a#

So the point of intersection of the line with the #x#-axis is #(a,0)#

Equation of any straight line with the given one is #x/b+y/a+c=0# As it passes through #(a,0)# we have

#a/b+0/a+c=0#

#=>c=-a/b#

So equation of the required straight line

#x/b+y/a-a/b=0#
