Question #08a1c

1 Answer

Ammonium sulphate is an Ionic solid, it dissolves in water. When added to water, ammonium sulfate dissociates to release positive ammonium Ions and negative Sulfate Ions.

(NH₄)₂SO₄ (s) + H_2H2O (aq) --------> 2NH_4^ + (aq) +H+4(aq)+ SO_4^(2-)O24 (aq)

These ions conduct electricity and makes the ammonium sulphate solution good conductor of electricity.
