With even roots, the domain is limited to positive values under the root. $\sqrt[2]{-} 4$ is not defined, as there is no number that will square to $- 4$ (except the imaginary numbers, but that is a whole different chapter)

But not here. $\sqrt[3]{-} 8 = - 2$ as ${\left(- 2\right)}^{3} = 8$

So the domain x in(-oo -> +oo#)

With $x$ going all over the place, so can $y$

So the range $y \in \left(- \infty \to + \infty\right)$
