Vertices (0,5) and (0, -5), Focii (0,4) and (0-4)

Compare the given equation with the standard equation of an ellipse with center at (0,0). It is #x^2/b^2 + y^2/a^2 =1#, a>b
#a^2 =25 and b^2=9# . Calculate #c^2 = a^2-b^2= 25-9=16#. Thus c= 4.

Vertices of the ellipse would lie on the major axis, that is y axis in this case. These can be obtained by putting x=0 in the ellipse equation , so that y= #+- 5#,

The vertices would thus be (0,5) and (0,-5) and focii would be (0,4) and (0,-4)
