Some metals can react with certain species found in certain grades of petroleum oils. However, I wouldn't say that any metal was truly "soluble" in oil.

Explanation:

Metallic compounds? What does that actually mean? If you mean "metals" then there are some metals that can undergo some reaction with certain chemical species found in certain types of oils that are extracted from crude. For example, some oils contain nitrogen compounds that may react to form complexes with copper, for instance.

But I would not say that any metal was truly "soluble" in oil.
