I think that it should be option (2)...

Explanation:

First I tried by plotting a ray diagram and I saw that effectively the image was moving away from the lens:

Then I used the lens equation: #1/i+1/o=1/f#
where:
#i#=distance of the image from the lens;
#o#=distance of the object from the lens;
#f#=focal length (assumed equal to 5 cm).
and I plotted the distances:

As you can see the distance of the image varies NON linearly implying a change in velocity and so an acceleration (while the object distance has a linear behaviour implying zero acceleration).
