Put into very simple terms:
There are particles that have spontaneously split and are now two separate entities; yet they still react to and rely on the other.
We can measure the instantaneous polarization or spin of one particle and know the polarization or spin of the other particle at that particular moment.
Physicists have conducted experiments with "disturbing" light particles that were almost 25 km apart.
