R=P+Q is a vector representatiion.
This should be written as

$\vec{R} = \vec{P} + \vec{Q}$ which means sum of two vectors.

Here
$R = \left\mid \vec{R} \right\mid = \text{Length of the diagonal of the }$ $\text{parallelogram}$
$P = \left\mid \vec{P} \right\mid = \text{Length of one side of the }$
$\text{parallelogram}$

$Q = \left\mid \vec{Q} \right\mid = \text{Length of another adajacent side}$
$\text{of the parallelogram}$
