Why the temperatures around seas or oceans do not go to as extreme levels as those at land masses?

Explanation:
1 The specific heat of water being highest, it takes too much time to gain heat or loose it.
2 Good convection currents in water enable it to transmit heat gained by top surface to bottom layers, while in land masses it may not be so.
3 Water is liquid so as temperature rises, evaporation cools it but when temperature is lower, evaporation also reduces.
