Since there is no friction no work is being done if the object is not being raised. so it takes no force to move the object.


Force is required to do work or to accelerate an object.

F = MA

If there is an acceleration it is not mentioned in this question. If there was an acceleration a force needed to achieve that acceleration, using the question above.

Overcoming friction is work. Unrealistically the question indicated that there is no friction. So moving the object requires no force.
