Atoms cannot excrete, grow, reproduce, do not show irrrtability or possess any or all of the traits of living things. Remember that living organisms have to show seven characteristics to really be recognized as living.
These life processes are: movement, reproduction, sensitivity, growth, respiration, excretion and nutrition.
