# Question #3ef0c

Iron is more electropositive than Silver as evident from their positions in the electrochemical series.Less electropoitve Silver ions $\left(A {g}^{+}\right)$ get reduced by the Iron $F e$ atom and as a result metallic silver is deposited on Iron electrode when dipped in silver ion solution. But Ag electrode does not interact with $F {e}^{\text{+3}}$ ions in solution.
$2 A {g}^{+} + F e \to F {e}^{\text{+2}} + 2 A g$
