Fungi is an important part of the ecosystem. It is so vast that they have been allotted an altogether separate Kingdom called, Kingdom Fungi.

Fungi can be simply defined as those organisms that feed on dead or decaying organic matter because they cannot photosynthesize. These are those organisms that grow in dark, humid environments and reproduce via spores.
