Let #W# g be the weight of the block.

As per Archimedes' principle the apparent loss in weight is equal to the weight of displaced water. In case of floating block the apparent weight is zero.So loss in weight is same as the weight of the block.

Hence by condition of floatation the weight of displaced water during floatation is equal to the weight of the block #=W# g.

This is the weight of displaced water when #2/3W# g is immersed in water.

So when the block is completely immersed (#W# g) then the weight of displaced water will be #3/2W# g.
