Magnesium hydroxide is quite insoluble in water, ${K}_{\text{sp}} = 5.61 \times {10}^{-} 12$... It is sold as a milky suspension in water (hence the name), and used as a remedy for an upset stomach, and also for constipation. Magnesium ion is apparently poorly absorbed along the intestinal tract, and it draws water out of the intestines, allowing its use as a treatment for constipation.
