Socratic is full with smart students, teachers, retired teachers and more. I am not sure how they manage their times to do that but I think they are willing to help others so they make sure to spend at least 2 hours on the site.

For me, I tried to answer at least 5 questions each day. I love doing that because I love when people are helping me too.

Honestly, I have a lot of assignments too and I consider Socratic as a "Life Saver" for me. The way they helped users with their questions is unbelievable, as you can see :) So whenever, I am not sure about my work, I just post it here to see if I was on the right track.

Listen, if you really want to help others you can do that easily. You have 24 hours, you can give the site at least 20 minutes :)

Best of luck!

Some thoughts below:

#### Explanation:

I can't speak for anyone else who contributes, but I can certainly chime in on my contributing experience.

First off, I'm retired. Gone are the days of toiling away for the better part of a day engaged in either making money (i.e. working) or formal learning (i.e. school). My days are mine to do with as I please. It pleases me to have been a part of Socratic and to continue to do so.

There are a few reasons I've started and then continued sharing answers on Socratic for the roughly $1 \frac{1}{2}$ years I've been doing this - stave off boredom, intellectual curiosity, the challenge of answering new and diverse problems, etc. Now I do it because it's part of my morning routine - I wake up, check email, hit social and news media, and then settle in to hang out on Socratic for anywhere between a half-hour to an hour. Sometimes I don't make it here and sometimes I spend more than that, but on average that's my routine.

I look for questions that get me thinking or that simply asked to be answered, like this one did.

I think I can speak for most, if not all, contributors in saying that our involvement with Socratic is a mixture of personal pride, a desire to help others, a means to find personal satisfaction, and in the end something we enjoy doing.

I hope you continue to find Socratic useful!
