Total momentum is given by #m_1v_1 + m_2v_2 = 20(4) + 4(-4) = 64 kg m/s# (we assume right to be positive and left to be negative).

2)

#64 m/s kg = (m_1 + m_2)v_f#

#8/3 m/s = v_f#
