Draw two parallel chords $a$ and $b$ of the given parabola.

Join their mid points so as to get the line $m$ . Note that this line joining the mid points is parallel to axis of symmetry.

Now draw another line $n$ perpendicular to $m$ and cutting parabola in two point and find the midpoint of the segment intercepted by it.

Draw a line $A$ , parallel to $m$ through midpoint of the segment. This is the Axis of Symmetry of the parabola.
