An object made of me is light enough to float in corn syrup, but not in water. What am I?

It depends on the density of fluid.

Explanation:

You can float on a fluid which has a greater density than your body.
It is because of buoyant force acting on your body.
If the buoyant force acting on your body is more than your weight you can float otherwise you will sink.
The density of corn syrup is much more than water.
Thus we float on corn syrup but sink in water.
