Do the planets ever align?
Planets align quite often.
When two or more objects are close together in the sky it is called a conjunction. When a conjunction occurs this means that the Earth and the other objects are aligned.
Conjunctions of two planets are fairly common and occur several times a year. Conjunctions of three or more planets do happen, but are rarer.
Venus and Jupiter are the brightest objects after the Sun and Moon. Conjunctions of Venus and Jupiter are visible with the naked eye and are worth seeing. Conjunctions of Venus and Jupiter typically happen once or twice a year.
Most conjunctions involve either Mercury or Venus as they move the fastest.
