Putting y=0 in the given equation we get

x/a-y/b=1

=>x/a-0/b=1

=>x=a

So the point of intersection of the line with the x-axis is (a,0)

Equation of any straight line with the given one is x/b+y/a+c=0 As it passes through (a,0) we have

a/b+0/a+c=0

=>c=-a/b

So equation of the required straight line

x/b+y/a-a/b=0
