This limit gives #a/b#.

Explanation:

Divide by the highest degree (which in this case is #x#).

#L = lim_(x-> oo) ((ax)/x + b/x)/((bx)/x + a/x)#

#L = lim_(x->oo) (a + b/x)/(b + a/x)#

#L = (a + 0)/(b + 0) = a/b#

Hopefully this helps!
