Cosmic rays are mainly created by supernova explosions.

Explanation:

Cosmic rays are particles which come from outside of the solar system. They consist of mainly protons. With some alpha particles, heavier atomic nuclei and electrons.

There is evidence that most cosmic rays originate from supernova explosions. There are thought to be other sources of cosmic rays but there is insufficient scientific evidence to determine the sources.
