How are telescopes time machines?

1 Answer

Light have a definite velocity in vacuum..It is about 300,000 kilometers/second.

Explanation:

Telescopes can collect more light from faint objects and so you can see far way objects..When you see a star, the photons reach your retina had taken time to reach you depending upon the distance.\
When you see the star 100 light years way, the photons you watched from the star started 100 years back.So you are seeing back i n time when you look at a far way star. That is why we say we are seeing back in time.
