Artificial gravity has not been invented as such...

Explanation:

Einstein's general theory of relativity equates gravity with acceleration. So you could say that if you are in a frame of reference - such as a car - which is accelerating then the resulting force you feel is artificial gravity.

Zero gravity training is provided by taking a plane up to high altitude and then simulating freefall, resulting in the passengers experiencing weightlessness - at least for a periods of #30# seconds or so at a time.

In theory you could simulate gravity on a large spaceship or space station using rotation. If you were standing inside a large enough cylinder rotating at about the right speed then you might experience a passable simulation of gravity, due to the centripetal force exerted on you by the wall of the cylinder that causes you to follow around a circular path, rather than a straight line.
