How did you get to know about Socratic?
I ran into an ad on Facebook where maths answers were being looked for. It wasn't until I entered the website that I found the scope of subjects was far broader than simply math.
Since I was having a hard time with Chem this year, I really needed help and I found Tyler's videos online, which were SUPER helpful. He had made a video about a new website Vespr.org. Well, when I checked it out, the name had changed to Socratic and I am so thankful that I found such a supportive and helpful website! :)
I was bored during my chemistry lesson so I was searching for a place that could help me to expand my knowledge so I found Socratic :)
I was doing a Google search on some topic (that I long since have forgotten) and Socratic came up as one of the choices. I had a look, and was smitten!
I was procrastinating on my homework.
I found Socratic when I didn't feel like doing my homework. I was typing random letters in Google when I randomly found a question that someone had asked on Socratic. It looked easy so I clicked on Socratic and answered the question and made an account.
Ironically enough, now, Socratic has become a place where I can ask questions and learn from other people's questions so it has sort of helped me work more efficiently on homework. The streak system has also helped me to procrastinate less on homework so I can get to writing answers for those who may need help.
I was studying for a math test and got stuck with a question concerning matrices. I decided to google up my answer and started surfing the web then i was directly connected to this site. So glad to be part of the team.
stumbled across it
googled a question and it brought me here it's been like a week..
I came across a link on Facebook - only once!
When I investigated I found I liked what I saw very, very much and it snowballed from there!
I came across an AD on Facebook saying 'answer questions on physics and be someone's hero' or something similar.
Went to check the website.
That was my first time the I wrote an answer on this website. (Recently updated it though)
as far as I remember on Facebook
on Facebook, I saw socratic ad. I clicked....
It was just a chance meeting.
- One day i found difficulty in physics problem , so , I decided to search it on google . There only i found an excellent answer given by socratic users . This motivated me to search more information regarding socratic app . And more likely i started using it.
It was quite a random meeting with Socratic........
A few days ago , when I was trying to get the answer of a Mathematics question on Internet ; I found an advertisement related to Socratic and thus I made an account and joined the Socratic Family and started Answering and Asking various questions : )
Not so long ago, in an internet browser far away from here...
I entered some question about entropy and Cp values in google and found the existence of this site.
I should have discovered this sooner on my high school though..
Wanted an explanation for something, found it here, saw questions posted, decided to answer those, and here I am.
In AP Chem we'd have lots of webassigns and I had trouble finding the answers. Socratic helped me solve many of them.
Through my friends
One of my friend who has been on Socratic since months recommended me to use Socratic for asking and answering questions.
Same as u did.
Well I was searching for an answer so I typed the question and searched it on Google
The first result it came up was the exact answer and the answer was from one of the heroes Ernst Z.
After that I just started browsing the site and found a question to which I knew the answer.
I typed the complete answer and then when I clicked post answer it asked me to login or sign up.
Well then I signed up and from then I conversed and read all the necessary details, thanks to Stefen V. Sir for the guidance he gave and Ernst Z. Sir for indirectly bringing me to the site.
Well cheers to great teaching everyone.
This was my way. Curious to know about others (esp. Heroes) . 😋
Searching the web
Like Mr. Doc said, I was looking for an answer to a question I had, and I found this website. I love to help people and to answer question, so I looked around, trying to get a better feel for the site and then I came across a different question I had, and it was answered! I scrolled around more, and came across a question that I knew the answer to, and decided to sign up! This is the way that many people find the site.
I was trying to prove a trigonometric identity, but couldn't quite get there and stumbled across this site when I typed the identity on google
Now I love proving trigonometric identities, it's been a fun experience...
I was doing research for a biology paper, and found myself on Socratic, looking at someone's contribution. Suddenly, I saw a question pull up on the side and I thought, "Hey! I could answer that!" So I made an account to answer it, and quickly was pulled in to the thought of helping people around the world. So I've kept it up by answering questions, and still enjoy it immensely!
I was searching online for website where I can find some teachers to help me. But all of them were asking me for money. I didn't trust the sites and I didn't want to give my credit card info to them. So I decided to look for a better solutions.
I was struggling with Physics and Chemistry, then I googled one of my questions and I saw the answer on Socratic. I was impressed with the high quality answer. I was able to understand how to solve the problem. The big news was that is was FREE.
In conclusion, I found Socratic just by doing some researches. I found it at the right time, when I needed help the most!
