How do chemical bonds affect the properties of a substance?
It affects in different ways...
Ionic bonding promotes the creation of a soluble salt. and high melting and boiling points
Covalent bonding promotes formation of molecules.
Polar covalent bonding promotes solubility in polar water
Metallic bonding promotes malleability, ductility, and ability to conduct heat and electric current.
Non polar covalent bonding promotes movement toward the gaseous state.
Polar covalent bonding promotes movement toward liquid state, high boiling points and melting points
