How do the fundamental forces work?

Gravity, weak force, electromagnetism, strong force.
Explanation:
Gravity works as if the universe were a stretchy sort of material, and anything with mass has gravity.
These things with mass lay on the material and creates a slope in the fabric of the cosmos,
a slope that things will fall down.
More mass=more gravity.
Electromagnetism. Anything with electric current flowing through has a small magnetic field.
This can be concentrated by coiling wire with current running through it around something
that can be magnetized to create a temporary magnet.
I don't know much about the other two, I'm sorry this is a partial and awful answer :'(
Have you looked up the forces individually?
