# How do you calculate the pH of a buffer solution?

You use the equation of Henderson-Hasselbalch.

A buffer is a solution of a weak acid and its conjugate base.

The Henderson-Hasselbalch Equation gives you the pH of the buffer.

"pH" = "p"K_"a" + log("[base]"/"[acid]")
