# How do you convert L to millimeters?

Dec 2, 2016

Think of a large bottle of water. Usually it is 1 liter which is equal to 1000ml! Usually a small bottle is 500ml, so the large would be 1000ml which (is one liter). Ex. If you have 2L to ml = 2000ml

You mean $\text{litres}$ to $\text{millilitres}$.

#### Explanation:

The $\text{milli}$ prefix $\equiv$ $1 \times {10}^{-} 3$.

And thus $1$ $\text{millilitre}$ $\equiv$ $1 \times {10}^{-} 3 \cdot L$; i.e. $1 \cdot m L = \frac{1 \cdot L}{1000}$, or ${10}^{3} \cdot m L = 1 \cdot L$.
