Given the expression #10t^2 + t -2#
we could set the given expression equal to zero
and use the quadratic roots formula

#t= (-b+-sqrt(b^2-4ac))/(2a)#

which evaluates as #t= -1/2# or #t= 2/5#

So #(t+1/2)# and #(t-2/5)# are both factors of the given expression

with the remaining factor #=10#

#10t^2 + t -2 = 10(t+1/2)(t-2/5)#
