# How do you factor and solve x - 6 = -x^2?

Apr 4, 2017

$x - 6 = - {x}^{2}$

Add ${x}^{2}$ to each side:
${x}^{2} + x - 6 = 0$

Factor:
$\left(x - 2\right) \left(x + 3\right) = 0$

$x = 2$

$x = - 3$
