Before differentiating this function it requires to be written in the

form # ax^n #

note that the derivative of a function must be in the correct form before you can differentiate it.

# f(x) = ax^n rArr f'(x) =nax^(n - 1 ) #

# 32/x = 32x^-1 #

now differentiating gives #-1xx32x^-2 #

rewriting with a positive index the gives # -32/x^2 #
