# How do you find the domain and range of f(x) = sqrt(x-1)?

The domain question is easy: the $x - 1$ may not be negative, so $x \ge 1$, or domain : $\left[1 , \infty\right)$
The range is not so hard either: when $x = 1$ then $f \left(x\right) = 0$. it cannot go any lower so range : $\left[0 , \infty\right)$
