# How do you find the domain and range of y = - sqrt(1 - x)?

May 12, 2018

Domainin(-∞,1]
Range in(-∞,0]

#### Explanation:

For the domain part, clearly the part inside the square root must be positive or zero that is
$1 - x \ge 0$
$x \ge 1$
So domain in( -∞, 1]
Clearly as the value of x approaches -∞ that of y also approaches -∞
And if x=1, y=0
Therefore domainin(-∞,1]
Range in(-∞,0]

Hope it helps!!
