# f^-1(x) = 2x + 5 #

Explanation:

if you rewrite the equation as # y = (x - 5 )/2 #

then to find the inverse function ie. what is x in term of y you just have to change the subject to x.

# y = (x - 5 )/2 rArr x - 5 = 2y #

and so x = 2y + 5

finally change the y back to x so that the function is a function of x.

#rArr f^-1(x) = 2x + 5 #
