Note that $\left({x}^{3} - 3\right)$ can be written as
$\left({x}^{3} + 0 {x}^{2} + 0 x - 3\right)$
So $\left({x}^{3} - 3\right) \div \left(x + 1\right) = \left({x}^{2} - x + 1\right) R \left(- 4\right)$
