# How do you multiply 7 / 10 + 1 / 2 = 6 /( 5x)?

May 9, 2015

$L . H . S = \frac{7}{10} + \frac{1}{2}$

To make the denominator common:
we take the L.C.M of 2 and 10 $= 10$

$= \frac{7}{10} + \frac{1 \times 5}{2 \times 5}$
$= \frac{7}{10} + \frac{5}{10}$
$= \frac{12}{10}$

equating the above value with the R.H.S

$\frac{12}{10}$ = $\frac{6}{5 x}$

$5 x$ = $\frac{60}{12}$

$5 x$ = $5$

$x = 1$
