How do you simplify 2-3[x-2-5(x-1)]?

$2 - 3 \left[x - 2 - 5 \left(x - 1\right)\right]$

We use the PEMDAS rule to simplify the above expression

We solve the parentheses first, inwards to outwards

$= 2 - 3 \left[x - 2 - \left\{5 x - 5\right\}\right]$

$= 2 - 3 \left[x - 2 - 5 x + 5\right]$

$= 2 - 3 \left[\left(x - 5 x\right) + \left(5 - 2\right)\right]$

$= 2 - 3 \left[- 4 x + 3\right]$

$= 2 - \left\{\left(3 \cdot - 4 x\right) + \left(3 \cdot 3\right)\right\}$

$= 2 - \left\{- 12 x + 9\right\}$

$= 2 + 12 x - 9$
