You can multiply by #10# twice to scale both decimals, then divide your answer by #10# twice to reverse it.

#= 1/100(-27xx39)#

#= 1/100(-30xx39 - (-3 xx 39))#

#= 1/100(-1170 - (-117))#

#= 1/100(-1170 + 117)#

#= 1/100(-1053)#

#= color(blue)(-10.53)#
