$\frac{2 n}{n - 4} = \frac{2 n - 8 + 8}{n - 4} = \frac{2 \left(n - 4\right) + 8}{n - 4} = 2 + \frac{8}{n - 4}$

With exclusion $n \ne 4$

I'm not sure this is much simpler, but at least $n$ only occurs once.
