# How do you simplify (2x-5x+3)/(2x-4x+2)?

Question as Stated (and possibly/probably what was intended)
$\frac{2 x - 5 x + 3}{2 x - 4 x + 2}$ (and assuming $x \ne 1$)

$= \frac{- 3 x + 3}{- 2 x + 2}$

 = ((-3)(x-1))/((-2)(x-1)

$= \frac{3}{2}$

Possible Intended Question (I've a lot of time on my hands)

$\frac{2 {x}^{2} - 5 x + 3}{2 {x}^{2} - 4 x + 2}$

$= \frac{\left(2 x - 3\right) \left(x - 1\right)}{2 {\left(x - 1\right)}^{2}}$

$= \frac{2 x - 3}{2 x - 2}$
