How do you simplify (-5.3)^0?

${\left(- 5.3\right)}^{0} = 1$
Consider $3$
You can write it as ${3}^{1}$
$\frac{3}{3} = 1$ but
${3}^{1} / {3}^{1} = {3}^{1 - 1} = {3}^{0}$ [using the rule of exponents]
So basically ${3}^{0} = \frac{3}{3} = 1$
