# How do you simplify (6+7^2) + 1 using order of operations?

In the order of operations, it usually goes like PEMDAS. Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction. We notice a set of parenthesis so that is what we solve for first. We then notice that inside the parenthesis are exponents so then we solve for that. ${7}^{2}$ is 49, and then we add 6. We get 55 + 1, and we add those together to get 56.
