The expression can be simplified to #sin^2theta#.

Apply the identity #sectheta= 1/costheta#:

#=>cost(1/cost - cost)#

Multiply:

#=>1 - cos^2t#

Apply the identity #sin^2theta + cos^2theta = 1 ->sin^2theta = 1- cos^2theta#:

#=>sin^2t#
