There are a few you could do: either by #3# or #6#

#18/ 3 = 6#

#24/3 = 8#

But then you still can simplify #6/8# by dividing the numerator and denominator by #2#

You're left with #3/4#, and that cannot be simplified any more.

It's important to note, we divided by #3/3# and then #2/2#, not "three" or "two." Think about it this way, if you divided by #3/3# you are really dividing by #1# whole, which means you're not changing the value.
