# How do you solve 1/5x - 4 = 3 -1/2x?

Mar 6, 2016

$\frac{1}{5} \cdot x + \frac{1}{2} \cdot x = 7$
now take x common $\left(\frac{1}{5} + \frac{1}{2}\right) \cdot x$
now $\frac{1}{5} + \frac{1}{2} = \frac{7}{10}$
seven will cancel out from both the sides. therefore $\frac{1}{10} \cdot x = 1$
