Explanation:

Bring all numbers to one side, and the variables to the other by

(Note that there are two ways to do this)

  1. Add 3 to both sides to bring all numbers to the right:

#rarr 3n = 4n + 4 #

Subtract #4n# on both sides to bring all variables to the left:

#rarr -1n = 4#

And since #n# is a negative, you want to make it a positive by either multiplying or dividing by #-1 #

#rarr n = -4#

  1. Subtract #3n# on both sides to bring all variables to the right:

#rarr -3 = n +1 #

And then subtract #1# on both sides to bring all numbers to the left -

#rarr -4 = n#
