x = 10/3

Explanation:

Order of operations.
Multiply first.

- 4( 3x - 2) = - 32

- 12x + 8 = - 32

Move 8 to the other sign of the equation so we can begin to isolate x

- 12x = - 32-8

- 12x = - 40

Divide both sides by -12 to get the value of x

(cancel(- 12)x)/cancel(-12) = (- 40)/(-12)

x = 40/12

Take out common factor 4

x = (cancel4(10))/(cancel4(3))

x = 10/3
